The United Nations Security and Safety Service (UN SSS) Vienna at the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), which is administered by the Division for Management of UNOV, operates as part of common services and is responsible for providing security and safety services for all international organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VIC).
UN SSS Vienna reports to the Division of Headquarters Security and Safety Services of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). The Service carries out its activities in close coordination with the VIC-based Offices of the Secretariat, United Nations Funds, Programmes and Specialized Agencies.
The mission of UN SSS Vienna is to provide a safe and secure environment in which delegates, staff, visiting dignitaries and other visitors may conduct the business of the VIC-based international organizations.
