The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)

The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) is one of the four main headquarters of the United Nations, alongside New York, Geneva and Nairobi. Established on 1 January 1980, UNOV plays a vital role in promoting international cooperation, dialogue and diplomacy in a range of global issues.

UNOV provides administrative support to the United Nations Secretariat entities in Vienna and delivers a range of common services to the organizations located at the Vienna International Centre (VIC), such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). These common services include conference services, security and safety services and general support services.

UNOV is closely associated with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Both Offices are led by the same official – who serves concurrently as Director-General of UNOV and Executive Director of UNODC – and are supported by a shared Division for Management.
